Don Lemon Criticizes Elon Musk’s Sensitivity

Don Lemon, former CNN host, has been building anticipation for his upcoming interview with Elon Musk, suggesting that Musk struggles with being held accountable.

In a recent Q&A with People Magazine, Lemon expressed his critiques of the tech billionaire ahead of the interview’s broadcast. Lemon, known for his role as one of the few Black and gay anchors in cable television history, highlighted Musk’s discomfort with being questioned, particularly by someone with differing perspectives.

Lemon hinted at tense exchanges during the interview, including Musk’s views on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as his comments regarding non-white female pilots. Additionally, Lemon scrutinized Musk’s promotion of white-supremacist rhetoric on social media, along with his interactions with former US President Donald Trump.

Despite Musk’s team expressing concern about his portrayal in the interview and requesting to review the footage before airing, Lemon revealed that their request was denied. He noted that Musk exhibited a level of sensitivity unmatched by other individuals he had interviewed, ranging from world leaders to convicts.

Previously, Lemon suggested that Musk was displeased with the interview, leading to the cancellation of a potential partnership between Lemon and Musk’s company, X. However, Musk attributed the decision to concerns about Lemon’s proposed show format, dismissing it as a replication of traditional CNN-style broadcasting, which he deemed ineffective for social media platforms like X.

Representatives for Musk have not responded to requests for comment from Business Insider regarding Lemon’s remarks.
