Google Pay, initially introduced as ‘Tez’ in 2017, was a pioneer in the UPI-based payment system. Following a rebranding on August 28, 2018, it became widely known as Google Pay. UPI, short for Unified Payments Interface, offers a range of features such as self-transfer, balance checking, QR code payments, and more. In India, Google Pay, also referred to as GPAY, is among the most popular payment apps, facilitating various online transactions. Every transaction on Google Pay is secured by a unique UPI PIN, typically a 4-digit code, required to authorize bank transactions. While this PIN is set during the initial setup of your Google Pay account, you may need to change it due to forgotten PINs or security concerns.
